Greenwood FUJIFILM Run Club Finishes Strong

Several years ago, a small group of associates at Fujifilm Fit in Greenwood, SC started meeting up on weekends for long runs.

What began as a simple way to stay active together has grown into a steady, committed run club built on consistency and friendship. The core group — Brett, Randy, Brendan, Tom Gable, Tracy Duncan, Mark Danas, and Mike Holenwarter — has remained the heart of the group, showing up week after week to put in the miles together.

Led by SOC trainers Ben and Brett, the group runs anywhere from 6 to 20 miles depending on what people are training for. Over time, those steady weekend miles have added up to some pretty incredible accomplishments. Most recently, the team completed the Dam to Dam 100K (Lake Murray to Lake Greenwood) for the seventh year in a row (photo above)— a streak they’re proud of, especially after earning two first-place finishes in the Ultra division in past years.

The club has also trained together for races near and far, including the Myrtle Beach Marathon, Spinx Run Fest, Marine Corps Marathon, New York City Marathon, and the Jack and Jill Marathon, along with many half marathons. One especially meaningful race was the Skidaway Island Marathon, where Brendan, Brett, Tracy, Randy and teammates crossed the finish line together — and where Tracy and Randy completed their very first full marathon. Those shared finish lines are the moments that stick.

More than anything, this run club is about helping people get out there and take the next step. Through an extension of the C25K program, Ben and Brett have supported many folks in training for their first half or full marathon. What started as a few coworkers going for a run has turned into a supportive community that proves big goals are possible — one mile at a time.
