The CHallenge
On October 28th, Cameron will endeavor to set another Guinness World Record for the most step-ups in eight hours. The current record is 8,898 step-ups achieved by Arran McLellan at the University of Victoria Stadium in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, on 4 June 2011. Cameron will need to gain 11,125 feet for a total elevation change of 22,250 feet to break the record, which is the equivalent of climbing up and down the Empire State Building nine times, without ever having to leave Ware Shoals, SC.
The Purpose
How many times has tomorrow turned into yesterday?
This event is meant to inspire you to embrace a challenge that you have been considering but have not yet expressed. This might mean setting a goal that will test your capabilities or contributing to a cause that also lifts others.
Our days are numbered, and I believe in making every single one count, Ware Shoals has never had a world record set within the town limits, and I want to be the first to attempt to do so.
How You can take action
By acting locally and thinking globally we can make the world a better place for all. I want to encourage you to set a goal of your own and tell us what it is in the form below. Committing to a goal and sharing it with others is the first step in accomplishing it and we want you to take action today instead of putting it off another day.
Along with setting your goal we encourage you to learn more about one of the causes that could use your attention and contribution.
Four initiatives that are near our hearts but span three different continents are:
