Choose Your Adventure: Andre's 5 Year Trip to Bali!

At the Suitcase of Courage, our values are Integrity, Relationships, Enthusiasm, Adventure, Courage and Health (I-REACH), and we believe in the never-ending pursuit of growth and adventure.

One of the ways we live our values is after five years of working at the Suitcase of Courage, our team members are given the choice to travel anywhere in the world for a week! It’s a radical gift that we’re proud of and have been honored to share for the second time with team member, Andre Wilson.

Andre in Bali!

Andre is an Industrial Athleticism Specialist who started working for The Suitcase of Courage in 2016. He decided on Bali because a friend of his visited Bali three years ago and raved about it. Since then, Bali had been in the back of his mind, and he figured now was the perfect time to visit.

“Not only was I curious as to how life is in southeast Asia, but I wanted a complete change of scenery from what I was accustomed to in the States.”

While in Bali, he completed a few short hikes, checked out the rice fields, ate a ton of traditional foods, and left with a newfound appreciation for life.

“I was blown away by how far our dollar went and how kind the locals were. I rarely saw anyone with a frown on their face and they were eager to help you if you needed anything.”

With a passion for travel, Andre knows that travel and adventure fill his cup and keeps him motivated both personally and professionally.

“Every chance I get, I travel. From each adventure, both small and extensive ones, I always return with a sense of the place and people that live there. Traveling to the destination helps me to better understand their culture, by experiencing their cuisine and customs. In most cases, it helps me remain grounded and overcome obstacles that I wouldn't face while in the comforts of my hometown. Working for the Suitcase of Courages feeds that part of my spirit and allows me the flexibility to work from multiple places.”

Congratulations to Andre for over five years of being an Industrial Athleticism Specialist with a passion for venturing to new lands and exploring the beauty of unique cultures.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do, than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails.

Explore. Dread. Discover.
